According to the Mirror, Ruben Amorim was looking forward to bringing Lewandowski to Old Trafford next summer once the veteran forward's Barcelona contract expired. The Poland legend is in the final year of his existing deal and as of now, there have been no talks of an extension between the striker and the Catalan club, which is a clear hint that the Spanish champions do not want to retain the player beyond the 2025-26 campaign.

Ratcliffe blocks shock transfer for Barca star in blow to Amorim

According to the Mirror, Ruben Amorim was looking forward to bringing Lewandowski to Old Trafford next summer once the veteran forward's Barcelona contract expired. The Poland legend is in the final year of his existing deal and as of now, there have been no talks of an extension between the striker and the Catalan club, which is a clear hint that the Spanish champions do not want to retain the player beyond the 2025-26 campaign.

The report, however, also adds that Ratcliffe has denied Amorim's request as he is strictly against signing players who are in the twilight of their playing careers. In the past, United have run after big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Raphael Varane and Bastian Schweinsteiger but none of the signings have proved fruitful for the team and have instead cost the club millions of pounds in the transfer market and in wages.

Man Utd eyeing move for Bellingham

Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Man Utd ready to make shock move for Borussia Dortmund star Jobe Bellingham in January transfer window

Per the Mirror, Manchester United are eyeing a move for Jobe Bellingham and could consider signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder on loan in the January transfer window. It now remains to be seen if Bellingham wants to return to England or keep fighting for a place in the Dortmund lineup.

Beleaguered Premier League boss given four games to save his job

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira could become the fourth Premier League manager to be sacked in the 2025-26 campaign as the Portuguese coach has reportedly been given just four matches to prove himself.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown said: "There will be a concern for Wolves right now if they don't improve, they could find themselves cut adrift and when that normally happens, you see a potential managerial change happening. Obviously, they've got Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Fulham then away after the Burnley game is a tricky one, then Chelsea away. So there are some difficult looking fixtures after the Burnley game for Wolves and Vitor Pereira. And then we've got the international break, and that could be the time if things haven't improved. If they haven't picked up too many points in those next three Premier League games then you can possibly see the pressure really being on Pereira. When you get the international break, it gives clubs the opportunity to assess things, and the fears could be there that they could make a change in the hot seat at Molineux."

Bayern chief sends out strong message on talk of move for Guehi

Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl has seemingly confirmed that the club will pursue a move for Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi as the German champions look to bolster their backline.

Eberl told DAZN: "It's absolutely clear that we as Bayern Munich are exploring the market. Our clear goal is to extend Upa's contract. That's our ultimate goal. If that doesn't work out, we have to be prepared. We would be foolish not to. That's the reason. I've not confirmed anything, but we are active in the market."

United confident of landing Hjulmand from Sporting

United are reportedly growing confident about completing a deal for Sporting CP's Morten Hjulmand, according to TEAMtalk. The 26-year-old Denmark international is highly regarded by Ruben Amorim, who worked closely with him during their time together in Lisbon before taking charge at Old Trafford. Hjulmand's current deal includes an €80 million release clause, but United believe that strong ties between Amorim and his former club could help them negotiate a lower fee.

Ronaldo reveals the 'most important tool' behind his longevity

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed what he thinks is the "most important tool" behind his longevity after plying his trade across Europe and now in Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese icon is showing no signs of slowing down, even at 40, as he continues to chase down records with Al-Nassr and on the international stage. He has set himself the mind-boggling target of reaching 1,000 career goals before hanging up his boots, and he is just 51 short of reaching that total.

Arsenal's Eze was 'prepared' for Spurs move before dramatic late snub

Arsenal's Eberechi Eze has shared that he was ready to sign for the Gunners' rivals Tottenham Hotspur before a call with Mikel Arteta sealed his move to the red side of north London. The former Crystal Palace star had agreed a move to Spurs, but when Arsenal swooped for his signature at the last moment, he never had any doubts about moving to the club he supported as a boy.

Real Madrid's transfer plan for Endrick revealed

Real Madrid have chalked up a transfer plan for Endrick that will allow the out-of-favour striker to make a January exit, as he desperately wants more minutes under his belt to convince Carlo Ancelotti to give him a spot in Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad. Los Blancos beat Paris Saint-Germain to his signature three years ago and forked out a massive €60 million (£52m/$64m) to Palmeiras. However, his time in the Spanish capital has not gone according to plan.

City interest pushes Bayern to secure Kompany's future

Manchester City reportedly reached out to Vincent Kompany about the prospect of succeeding Pep Guardiola, a move that prompted an immediate and strategic response from Bayern Munich, according to journalist Christian Falk.

Although Bayern had initially planned to discuss an extension with Kompany in 2026, City's approach forced their hand. Confident in the Belgian's progress in Munich, the Bundesliga giants accelerated talks to safeguard their long-term project.
