MGM collaborates with Thailand's EM District from March 5 to 8, inviting a delegation of Thai business leaders to visit Macau for a customized luxury experience and business inspection, deepening the strategic partnership between the two sides. Following last year's successful collaboration, this marks another significant expansion of MGM in the Thai market, aiming to respond to the Macau SAR government's call to attract more international tourists and consolidate Southeast Asia as a key source market. Simply put, it's about reuniting old friends, bringing Thai entrepreneurs to Macau for fun, food, and business inspections, while also setting up a tourist information kiosk in Bangkok's top shopping mall.
Collaboration Upgrade: From Luxury Experiences to Tourism Promotion
This collaboration builds on last year's foundation, with MGM not only providing customized luxury experiences for EM District's high-end clients at its properties but also organizing a business delegation to visit Macau and setting up Macau tourism information kiosks in several high-end shopping centers in Thailand. On March 5, MGM hosted a welcome dinner at the Vista restaurant in MGM Lion, attended by representatives from the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Tourism Bureau, Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, and MGM senior management. MGM's Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations stated that Thailand has become an important market for MGM, with a projected 26% year-over-year growth in Thai hotel guests by 2025. He hopes that this carefully planned itinerary, including visits to the Poly MGM Museum and the "Macau 2049" resident show, will inspire future collaborations.
Delegation Lineup: Spanning Eight Major Industries, Over 50 Members
EM District owns three top retail malls: Emporium, EmQuartier, and Emsphere. The delegation consists of over 50 members, covering industries such as food and beverage, finance, real estate, luxury retail, technology, and aviation education. The Managing Director of Emporium stated that EM District prides itself on being "extraordinary," a value shared by MGM. Both parties see great potential in Macau, a rapidly emerging world-class lifestyle and high-end entertainment center. During their stay in Macau, the delegation not only inspected MGM's convention facilities and learned about the innovative cross-border exhibition model between Macau and Hengqin but also participated in art tours within MGM properties and visited iconic Macau landmarks such as Senado Square, A-Ma Temple, Kuan Tai Temple, Kun Iam Temple, and the old town of Taipa, immersing themselves in Macau's blend of Chinese and Western cultural charm.
